Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the CEO, EVP, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, and business unit leadership to develop company-level differentiated capability investment strategies, capability investments, IRAD projects, and intellectual property.
- Serve as a technical and strategic leader during captures and proposals, developing strength-based solutions against customer requirements and helping coach and mentor technical leaders in solution development and proposal writing.
- Support MTSI’s long-range capture and proposal process, including identification, cultivation, shaping, and execution of major strategic opportunities.
- Support and actively monitor execution of growth strategies and plans, working with business unit and division leadership to adjust based on customer needs, market changes, and lessons learned.
- Contribute as a Digital Transformation Subject Matter Expert (SME) on contracts across all 3 Divisions (e.g., MDA Transformation Task Force, MDA Advanced Capabilities, OUSW R&E Mission Capabilities, USSF Space-Based-Interceptor, USAF Agile Development Office).
- Proactively coordinate and collaborate across MTSI divisions to identify opportunities for cross-divisional growth, revenue generation, and application of MTSI capabilities to new customers and missions.
- Develop strategies to expand business into new customers, mission areas, and adjacent markets.
- Represent MTSI at national conferences and in senior customer and industry partner engagements as a credible representative of MTSI’s technical and mission capabilities.
- Develop and brief compelling strategic and marketing material that communicates MTSI’s differentiated value proposition and supports customer engagement, program development, cross-selling, and new business.
- Support technical and strategic evaluation of potential partnerships, strategic agreements, investments, and merger and acquisition candidates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field (master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on advanced or emerging technologies.
- Previous senior leadership experience with responsibility for organizational execution, growth, and development of strategic opportunities.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with technical and business acumen, with the ability to translate strategy and vision into executable actions and follow through to completion.
- Broad technical understanding across relevant mission areas, with sufficient depth to credibly engage senior government, technical, and industry leaders.
- Excellent customer and industry partner engagement skills, including exceptional verbal, written, and executive-level communication capabilities.
- Highly collaborative leader capable of partnering across business units, engineering, operations, and business development to solve customer problems and win business.
- Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, cloud computing, IoT, and other technologies.
- Extensive experience in strength-based solutioning and technical proposal development, with the ability to rapidly develop compelling solutions against competitive requirements and mentor others in these areas.
