About the role
Grow the sales of dental members within company guidelines for both branded and private-label products. Provide analysis of sales trends and actionable recommendations to enhance financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee development of marketing materials and customer communications, including promotions, announcements, and product launches.
- Present new vendor recommendations—based on member feedback or market conditions—to the Vice President of Specialty Markets for assessment.
- Manage dental private-label brands: RFP process, packaging, sell sheets, promotion coordination, and sales execution.
- Build relationships and business knowledge with membership to drive sales and future opportunities.
- Develop dental-clinic sales with medical members as opportunities arise.
- Coordinate the Merchandise and Equipment Committee as a secondary responsibility.
- Monitor competitive and industry activity.
- Assist with literature and product-sample requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Protect the confidentiality of patient health information.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred, or 10–15 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of job-related experience.
- Specific experience in the dental market in a sales-management, marketing-management, or general-management role.
- Strong verbal and written communication, creative problem-solving, excellent organizational, analytical, and follow-through skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven leadership with financial acumen and relevant industry experience.
- Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
- Intelligent and articulate, able to relate to people at all organizational levels and possessing excellent communication skills.
- Effective educator who is trustworthy, shares information, and serves as a mentor.
- Forward-thinking, creative, and maintains high ethical standards.
- Ability to travel 25%–35%, including member visits and industry events.
Preferred candidate will be based in the Western United States (Central, Mountain, or Pacific Time Zone).
