Director, DDS Residential Services

JF&CS is seeking a Director of DDS Residential Services to lead and oversee multi-site 24-hour group homes funded by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS). This role ensures high-quality, person-centered supports that empower individuals to live meaningful lives in their communities. As a key member of the leadership team, the director provides vision, guidance, and operational oversight for residential services, supervises and mentors the management team, and drives workforce development initiatives. The position involves building strong relationships with families, funders, community partners, and compliance teams to ensure exceptional care, regulatory compliance, and meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multi-site 24-hour group homes, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care.
• Provide vision, guidance, and operational oversight for residential services.
• Supervise and mentor the management team while driving workforce development initiatives.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
• Build strong relationships with families, funders, community partners, and compliance teams.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and meaningful outcomes that promote independence and quality of life.
• Make safe, consistent, and effective clinical decisions in crisis and non-crisis situations.
• Plan, organize, prioritize, and evaluate strategies while addressing operational details.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or other vulnerable populations, preferably in a residential setting.
• At least 4-5 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of DDS regulations and residential service delivery, highly preferred; experience with regulatory oversight is required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication and conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of health and human services operations and planning.
• First Aid/CPR/MAP certified or ability to pass trainings within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle (mileage is reimbursed).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Outlook.

• Full-time, weekdays with a hybrid schedule (group home locations in Brighton and Newton, Waltham office, and some remote work).
• Paid time off includes ample sick time, 22 days of vacation, and national and some Jewish holidays.

• Medical insurance coverage effective the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.
• $150/week stipend for backup on-call rotation (roughly monthly).

Pay

$92,000–$96,000 per year.
