Job Summary

The Culture, Communication & Engagement Director will act as a Chief of Staff and strategic advisor and operational partner to the Chief People Officer (CPO), helping drive organizational alignment, leadership effectiveness, change management, and enterprise communication and engagement initiatives across the organization.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic resource and operational extension of the CPO and the President.
  • Cook up execution of enterprise HR and organizational initiatives across multiple business functions.
  • Support leadership meetings, executive communications, strategic planning sessions, and action tracking.
  • Develop top level executive presentations, talking points, organizational announcements, FAQs, and leadership messaging.
  • Develop a unified approach to our employee value proposition and design programs to support a world class people culture.
  • Lead and execute enterprise internal communication strategies supporting both office and field employees through the communications and marketing resources across the business.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership teams to drive organizational alignment and change.
  • Support organizational redesigns, workforce planning initiatives, employee engagement efforts, and change management activities.
  • Manage communication channels including intranet, email campaigns, leadership toolkits, video communications, and field communication platforms.
  • Aid in employee engagement initiatives, leadership visibility efforts, and organizational culture programs.
  • Develop communication strategies during periods of growth, operational transformation, acquisitions, or organizational change.
  • Help identify organizational risks, communication gaps, and execution challenges while driving practical solutions.
  • Support implementation of scalable processes and leadership communication practices across the organization.
  • Serve as a functional leader providing guidance and support to internal communications partners across the business.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience supporting executive leadership, organizational effectiveness, internal communications, or chief of staff functions.
  • Strong experience developing executive-level communications and organizational messaging.
  • Experience supporting fast-paced operational organizations, preferably within construction, industrial, manufacturing, or field-service environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change management and organizational communication initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement platforms, intranet systems, and communication technologies.

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

  • Spanish language fluency.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed or field-based workforces.
  • Experience supporting organizational transformation, acquisitions, or growth initiatives.

Additional Information

  • Role will regularly interact with executive leadership and senior operational leaders.
  • Position may require occasional support outside normal business hours due to operational or communication needs.
  • Strong business acumen and operational awareness are critical to success in this role.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-changing, growth-oriented environments is essential.
  • This role may support enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and confidential business matters.

Travel Requirements

  • The preferred location for this role may be either Dallas-Fort Worth TX or Richmond VA with minimal travel expected.
  • If located on site may include up to 20% travel across the US.
  • If remote, must be located within an easy travel distance from our locations.
  • Travel may be up to 50%.
