Director - Critical Care

About the role

This Director position will oversee all Critical Care Units at Mount Carmel East, including the Cardiac ICU, Medical ICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical Trauma ICU, as well as the Intermediate Care Units, which include the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, Neuro Intermediate Care Unit, and the Surgical Intermediate Care Unit. The role also oversees Respiratory Therapy and the Rapid Response Team.

Responsibilities

• Drive evidence-based/best practice initiatives
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and pulmonologists for cardiac, medical, and surgical care services
• Develop and support nursing services leadership
• Provide oversight of all Intensive Care Units
• Develop strategy and implementation plans for positive patient experience and colleague engagement
• Operationalize organizational initiatives and present to front-line staff
• Conduct succession planning
• Ensure efficient operations within productivity measures while adapting to changing dynamics
• Align with other system leadership to develop strong working relationships
• Work with senior leadership

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN required
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
• Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or a related field required
• Prior ICU nursing and/or leadership experience preferred
• Prior Director and change management experience preferred
