About the role

The Director of the Criminal Justice (CJ) Graduate Program in the School of Social Sciences, Communication, & Humanities reports to the Associate Dean. This role includes managing curriculum development, supervising full and part-time faculty, overseeing program evaluation/accreditation, and driving student enrollment and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated to Student Success (30%): Directs graduate academic advising, guides students through their degree, implements a proactive advising model, supports at-risk students, and drives retention and graduation rates.
  • Contributes to the Overall Success of the CJ Graduate Program (30%): Leads the implementation of the new CJ graduate program, integrates existing HLS concentration courses, coordinates cybersecurity activities, and manages program assessment and accreditation.
  • Teaches and Develops Courses (20%): Teaches 2 graduate-level courses per year, develops cutting-edge course content, and utilizes diverse assessment strategies.
  • Supervises, Trains, and Evaluates Adjunct Faculty (10%): Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates part-time adjunct faculty, ensuring they align with Canvas LMS standards and pedagogical benchmarks.
  • Increases Endicott’s Reputation (10%): Maintains a scholarly presence in criminal justice education, presents at conferences, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related field highly preferred; a Master’s degree or JD with significant academic leadership and operational experience considered.
  • Documented record of academic scholarship and active participation in national or regional professional organizations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in graduate-level teaching, including experience with online, lab-based, or hybrid simulation models.
  • Strong collaborative skills with a proven ability to work across departments.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, social justice, and developing cultural competencies among a diverse, non-traditional, and adult student population.
  • Excellent organizational and technical proficiency, including experience with Canvas LMS, MS Office, and Google Workspace.
