About the role
The Director of the School of Criminal Justice and Criminology is a key leadership position within the College of Applied Arts at Texas State University, San Marcos Campus. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the School, including its academic programs, facilities, and partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Oversee academic programs and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the School, including curriculum development and faculty recruitment.
- Collaborate with university centers to enhance educational offerings and research initiatives.
- Manage the Texas Justice Court Training Center and the Texas Crime and Justice Center.
- Supervise a dedicated administrative team and support the day-to-day operations of the School.
- Engage with stakeholders, including students, faculty, and community partners, to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Ensure the School meets institutional goals and objectives, contributing to the overall mission of Texas State University.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in criminal justice or a related field, with substantial experience in higher education administration.
