About the role
The Rhetoric and Communication Studies Department (RCS) is seeking a full-time Director of Forensics. This is a non-tenure track position.
Responsibilities
- Administer and coach the Speech & Debate Team
- Teach RCS classes every semester
- Promote the activity on campus
- Enhance the team’s reputation nationally and internationally
- Select Performance Scholarship recipients
- Manage the Speech and Debate Team Office
- Organize and accompany all travel with the team regionally, nationally, and internationally
Requirements
- Masters in Human Communication Studies, Speech Communication, or a related field
- Coaching experience with National Forensic Association, American Forensics Association, or WUCD sanctioned intervarsity competitions
- Applied knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, D2L, Canvas, or Moodle
- Strong skills and pedagogical acumen in both virtual and face-to-face environments
- Undergraduate level teaching experience in the field is preferred but not required
- Experience with the World Universities Debating Championship (WUCD) format is preferred
