Director, Compensation
Location: Rosedale Office Building – First Shift (40 standard weekly hours)

As Cook Children's Director of Compensation, you will be a key member of the Compensation leadership team with shared accountability for the success of the function. You will work with considerable autonomy to guide the implementation and administration of all employee and provider pay programs, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness according to established compensation design processes, standard operating procedures, and company policies.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP), you will serve as a backup to the AVP, a thought leader, and a trusted advisor, helping communicate and manage Compensation’s role, vision, and purpose across the organization. You will lead Compensation Analysts and Consultants in delivering excellent service by assessing and resolving a wide range of compensation challenges. Responsibilities include training and developing leaders, establishing standard operating procedures, recommending policy modifications, and directing the day-to-day activities of the Compensation Lead and Analysts.
In this role, you will routinely partner with other HR functions (e.g., HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, HRIS), employing creativity and latitude to advance HR and Compensation strategy. You will also maintain an understanding of and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal employment, wage, and hour laws. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in compensation administration or a related HR role
- 5+ years overseeing the operations of a compensation team
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, finance, human resources, psychology, or a related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 10 years of progressive experience in a substantially similar role may be substituted for the education requirement.
