The Director
The Director is responsible for taking ownership of accounts and implementing strategic, integrated communications programs that create impact.
About the role
The Director oversees the planning and day-to-day management of effective programs for multiple clients. They work with other communications team leads, research, content, digital, and design on integrated program strategies. The Director works with 4-6 clients, depending on complexity and size, leading and growing client relationships and mining opportunities across accounts. They practice INK’s Be There Before® methodology, embodying INK values and culture, committing to employee development through day-to-day coaching, regular check-ins, and performance reviews. The Director maintains a revenue under management of $1M and participates in business development to reach INK company-wide targets. They support the client services (CS) and growth leadership (GLT) teams and report to, advise, and are coached by INK’s VP level executives. They perform other related duties as required.
Responsibilities
- Drives the planning and day-to-day management of effective programs for multiple clients.
- Works with other communications team leads, research, content, digital, and design on integrated program strategies.
- Works with 4-6 clients, depending on complexity and size.
- Led and grows client relationships and mines opportunities across accounts.
- P Practices INK’s Be There Before® methodology, resulting in a proactive mindset and use of INK-designed systems across three key pillars: partnership, integrated communications, and analysis.
- Embolizes INK values and culture.
- Commits to employee development through day-to-day coaching, regular check-ins, and performance reviews.
- Maintains a revenue under management of $1M and participates in business development to reach INK company-wide targets.
- Supports the client services (CS) and growth leadership (GLT) teams and reports to, advises, and is coached by INK’s VP level executives.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Skills and qualifications
- 9+ years of full-time communications experience, agency setting preferred
- Experience in B2B tech and/or renewable energy
- Strong client relations skills and intuition
- Excellent writing skills, clear communicator
- Strong pitching skills and media relationships
- Ability to organize and manage multiple client responsibilities
- Experienced in developing talent and acting as an approachable coach and mentor
- Ability to learn and understand client industries and complex, technical topics
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting
- Ability to problem-solve, apply sound judgement, and delegate within team environment
Starting salary range
$100,000+, commensurate with experience
