About the role

Responsible for the administration, operation, and retention goals of the Commercial Accounts Department in assigned location(s) and/or industry vertical. This role supervises and manages assigned personnel and the servicing of commercial accounts in accordance with HUB’s practices, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the department by setting and communicating direction, objectives, planning, organizing, and coordinating with other departments (claims, finance, etc.).
  • Direct department services within accepted insurance principles and HUB Broker Standards while seeking process improvements with input from direct reports.
  • Supervise and direct department personnel, including training, motivation, performance appraisal, career path mentorship, and salary recommendations.
  • Handle employment practices, including recommending hiring or dismissal, onboarding direct reports, and identifying, recruiting, and coaching top talent.
  • Provide strategic oversight and alignment with overall goals and initiatives; communicate strategy clearly and measure success.
  • Review and analyze renewal and retention trends and their financial impact on goals and objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture with continuous feedback and a growth mindset.
  • Assign accounts and work to department personnel, including handling and servicing new accounts with Producers.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise on risk identification and appropriate coverage.
  • Handle and service assigned high-complexity commercial accounts when needed.
  • Assist customers with coverage suggestions and resolve complaints for client retention.
  • Identify opportunities and support new business development from existing accounts.
  • Oversee premium collection for accounts assigned to the department.
  • Implement a quality control review process to ensure excellent customer service and work quality.
  • Stay informed of industry changes and trends to anticipate and respond to growth opportunities.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the President, Commercial Lines, or industry vertical practice leader.

Requirements

  • Seven to ten years of commercial lines insurance experience.
  • Three to five years of department leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets.
  • Producer’s license.
  • Experience with agency management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Dependable, energetic, and hard-working with efficient time management.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $132,247 to $225,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and location.

Schedule

Hybrid work schedule based in the Milford, MA office.
