About the role
The Director of Clinical & Professional Development for the coastal region partners with the regional CNOs and the coastal region nurse executive teams to develop and facilitate the achievement of strategic plans for the clinical education departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate strategic plans for the clinical education departments.
- Partner with regional CNOs and nurse executive teams.
- Design, direct, and evaluate programs.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues in multiple disciplines, roles, and organizations.
- Provide regionalized educational services.
- Build coalitions with health system partners.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, research, education, and developmental methodologies for professional advancement.
- A completed Master's Degree in Nursing.
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
- Five years of clinical experience as an educator.
- Experience in faculty responsibilities relative to program and curriculum development.
- An advanced understanding of organizational/systems theory, leadership development, and resource/performance management.
- Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of health care delivery systems and professional practice trends within and beyond the state of Maine.
- Experience in the provision of regionalized educational services.
- Experience with coalition building with health system partners.
Qualifications
- Education: Comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, research, education, and developmental methodologies for professional advancement. Acquired through completion of a Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
- Experience: Clinical experience, and a minimum of 5 years as an educator required.
- Progressive, diverse, and successful experience as a Clinical Educator including faculty responsibilities relative to program and curriculum development.
- In-depth understanding and/or achievements related to organizational/systems theory, leadership development, and resource/performance management.
- Advanced analytical skills sufficient to design, direct and evaluate programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues in multiple disciplines, roles, and organizations.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of health care delivery systems and professional practice trends within and beyond the state of Maine.
- Experience in the provision of regionalized educational services.
- Experience with coalition building with health system partners.
