Accountabilities
- Lead the management of complex claims processes while developing strategies to improve risk performance, reporting accuracy, and organizational awareness.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure claims are handled effectively and aligned with business goals.
- Oversee the reporting, investigation, and resolution of claims across General Liability, Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Cyber, Property, and related coverage areas.
- Manage claims within established corporate and operational deductibles or retention levels while ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate claims records within claims management systems and reporting platforms, producing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Partner with internal teams to investigate incidents, conduct interviews, gather documentation, and support effective claim resolution.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on claims reporting procedures, risk awareness, and related policies.
- Analyze claims trends, financial impacts, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for risk reduction and operational improvement.
- Prepare executive-level reports and recommendations based on claims data, benchmarking, and loss analysis.
- Lead regular claims review meetings with insurance partners and stakeholders to evaluate open claims and reserve positions.
- Support actuarial reporting activities by collecting and maintaining historical claims data.
- Manage and develop claims team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of six years of experience as a claims handler or claims management professional.
- Professional Liability and Workers’ Compensation experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing complex claims investigations and working with insurance carriers and legal counsel.
- Strong knowledge of claims processes, risk management principles, and insurance operations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using financial reporting or claims management systems.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to executives, employees, vendors, and external partners.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Able to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Flexibility to adjust schedules when business needs require occasional evening or weekend support.
