Director, Category Leadership - CDVD Shopper and Segmentation Insights
About the role
The Coca-Cola Category team seeks an insights and segmentation leader to advance capability across the Club, Drug, Value and Discounter Customer portfolio. This role is responsible for leading customer segmentation, assortment testing, and customer shopper insight generation that strengthens category growth strategies and accelerates commercial decision making.
Responsibilities
Translate customer, shopper and marketplace trends into actionable recommendations that improve assortment, merchandising and category performance.
Partner with Sales, Category Leadership and Commercial Strategy to embed customer shopper insights into customer planning and category strategies.
Build repeatable customer insight frameworks that strengthen decision making across the CDVD portfolio.
Lead CDVD customer segmentation strategy and capability development.
Develop advanced segmentation models utilizing customer, shopper and marketplace data.
Own testing strategy and measurement across assortment, merchandising and shopper initiatives.
Leverage testing platforms including Mastercard APT Test and Learn and other advanced measurement capabilities to evaluate commercial recommendations.
Translate testing results into scalable best practices that influence future customer strategies.
Partner with the Customer Shopper Insights COE and cross functional peers across North America to continuously improve segmentation methodologies and analytical capabilities.
Help establish standardized approaches to customer segmentation, testing and insight generation that can scale across customers and channels.
Champion emerging analytical tools, AI-enabled capabilities and modern research methodologies to improve speed and quality of insights.
Lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving Category Leadership, Sales, Commercial Strategy, Bottlers and external partners.
Qualifications
Education: MBA Preferred but minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in customer insights, shopper insights, category management, digital commerce, commercial strategy, consumer research, or related analytical disciplines.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights for multiple-stake holders; excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels; demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs; high attention to detail at both breadth and depth; advanced analytical capability; strong understanding of customer segmentation methodologies, shopper insights, assortment optimization, and commercial testing principles; strong executive communication and storytelling skills with ability to simplify complex information for senior leadership; experience developing scalable analytical frameworks and customer-specific recommendations that drive category growth; high level of experience in data providers (Nielsen, Circana, 84.51, Numerator, etc); strong technical aptitude with modern analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled tools (MS Office, Power BI, Fabric, Mastercard APT etc.); demonstrated reputation for customer engagement with ability to positively drive business results; ability to link category leadership strategies to customer strategies; research experience with knowledge of different research techniques (specifically including outlet segmentation), experience in design and management of vendors through project delivery; strong planning capability with the ability to set clear priorities, sequence work effectively, and drive progress against both near-term deliverables and long-term strategic objectives; drives organizational performance, efficiency, & effectiveness by translating analytics into actions and results.
