About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading professional services organization seeking a Director of Business Transformation to drive strategic initiatives that improve operational performance, profitability, and organizational effectiveness across a portfolio of businesses.

This role is ideal for a results-oriented leader with experience in transformation, restructuring, operational excellence, or consulting who thrives in complex environments and enjoys turning under-performing businesses into high-performing organizations. The successful candidate will lead enterprise-wide initiatives focused on EBITDA growth, cash flow improvement, cost optimization, and sustainable operational change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale transformation, restructuring, and turnaround initiatives across multiple business units.
  • Conduct financial and operational assessments to identify the root causes of under-performance.
  • Develop and implement transformation strategies designed to improve profitability, efficiency, and long-term performance.
  • Drive measurable improvements in EBITDA, cash flow, margins, working capital, and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner directly with executive leadership teams to align transformation efforts with business objectives.
  • Establish and manage project governance, reporting structures, timelines, and accountability frameworks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain momentum and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Lead cost optimization, process improvement, organizational redesign, workforce planning, and technology transformation initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of operational best practices and standardized processes across the organization.
  • Ensure change initiatives are effectively adopted and sustained through strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing objective assessments and recommendations for business improvement.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in business transformation, restructuring, operational excellence, consulting, or related leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of leading turnaround or transformation initiatives that delivered measurable financial and operational improvements.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience analyzing P&Ls, KPIs, profitability, and operational performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects from strategy through execution.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support business initiatives.

Preferred:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience within management consulting, restructuring advisory, transaction services, or private equity-backed organizations.
  • Background in M&A integrations, carve-outs, or post-acquisition value creation initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certifications.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems, business intelligence tools, or operational technologies.
