About the role
The Director, Business Transformation at Lyons Magnus is a key leadership role responsible for translating strategic priorities into measurable business results. This position will lead and support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on improving operational performance, simplifying business processes, increasing organizational effectiveness, supporting M&A integration, and delivering sustainable value creation.
Responsibilities
- Execute partnership with executive and functional leadership to help define, prioritize, and execute the company's enterprise transformation roadmap.
- Translate strategic priorities into clearly defined initiatives with measurable objectives, milestones, ownership, resource requirements, and expected financial or operational benefits.
- Evaluate and prioritize transformation opportunities based on strategic importance, financial impact, organizational capacity, and execution risk.
- Drive initiatives from initial opportunity identification and business case development through implementation and benefit realization.
- Maintain visibility across the overall transformation portfolio and help leadership allocate resources to the highest-value opportunities.
- Partner with leaders across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Technology, and other functions to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies.
- Lead structured assessments of business processes, organizational handoffs, systems, data, and workflows to identify opportunities for simplification and improvement.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to redesign processes, clarify accountability, eliminate unnecessary work, and improve speed and execution.
- Apply continuous improvement, Lean, root-cause analysis, and other structured problem-solving methodologies where appropriate.
- Develop solutions that balance process improvement, technology enablement, organizational capability, and practical implementation requirements.
- Establish disciplined governance for major transformation programs, including project plans, milestones, ownership, decision rights, and reporting.
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business functions, locations, and stakeholders.
- Develop clear workplans and maintain accountability for deliverables, timelines, and business outcomes.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and barriers to execution and work with leadership to resolve them.
- Provide concise, fact-based reporting to executive leadership on progress, financial impact, risks, and decisions required.
- Develop practical KPIs, dashboards, and performance-management tools that provide visibility into transformation progress and business performance.
- Establish baselines, targets, and benefit-tracking methodologies for transformation initiatives.
- Partner with Finance and functional leaders to validate and track value creation, including: Cost savings and cost avoidance Productivity improvements Margin expansion Service and customer-performance improvements Working-capital improvements Capacity and throughput improvements.
- Identify performance gaps and work with initiative owners to develop corrective actions.
- Partner with executive leadership and functional teams to plan and execute the integration of acquired businesses into Lyons Magnus.
- Develop and manage comprehensive integration plans covering key functional workstreams, milestones, dependencies, risks, and ownership.
- Establish integration governance, including workstream leadership, reporting cadence, decision-making processes, and executive-level progress reporting.
- Translate acquisition assumptions and identified opportunities into executable synergy initiatives with clear owners, timing, investment requirements, and financial targets.
- Work with Finance and functional leaders to establish synergy baselines and track realized benefits against acquisition and integration objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional integration activities across areas such as Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Technology, Human Resources, Procurement, and other corporate functions.
- Identify opportunities to leverage Lyons Magnus capabilities, scale, systems, manufacturing network, supply chain, and organizational resources across acquired businesses.
- Balance the pace of integration with the need to maintain business continuity, customer service, employee engagement, and the performance of the acquired business.
- Identify integration risks and barriers early and escalate issues requiring executive decisions.
- Support post-integration reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously improve Lyons Magnus's M&A integration capabilities and playbook.
- Build alignment among executive leadership, functional leaders, and frontline teams around transformation priorities and expected outcomes.
- Clearly communicate the rationale for change, expected benefits, implementation approach, and individual responsibilities.
- Identify organizational and behavioral barriers that could prevent successful implementation.
- Develop practical change-management and communication plans appropriate to the scale and complexity of each initiative.
- Ensure new processes, systems, tools, and ways of working are effectively implemented, adopted, and sustained.
- Help build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and fact-based decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in business transformation, operations, continuous improvement, strategy, management consulting, program management, M&A integration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable financial and operational results.
- Experience developing business cases, financial analyses, KPIs, and benefit-tracking methodologies.
- Experience working directly with senior executives and functional leadership teams.

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and business-intelligence/reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or similar process-improvement methodologies.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to executive and operational audiences.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Hands-on, results-oriented leadership style with a willingness to move between strategic analysis and detailed execution.
