About the role
At Ensemble Health Partners, we are redefining how billing operations support financial performance and client success. We are seeking an innovative and strategic Director, Billing Optimization to lead initiatives focused on reducing denials, improving cash collections, decreasing unbilled days, and transforming billing operations across a complex multi-client environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to build optimization strategies from the ground up while influencing enterprise-wide change. The Director will partner with leaders across Revenue Cycle, Revenue Integrity, Front-End Operations, and Denials Management to identify root causes, implement solutions, and drive measurable operational improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis of denials, rejections, and claim edits to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions that improve billing performance and operational efficiency.
- Drive enterprise-wide optimization initiatives aimed at reducing unbilled days and accelerating cash collections.
- Present findings, recommendations, and process improvement strategies to executive and operational leaders.
- Partner with stakeholders across Revenue Cycle Operations, Revenue Integrity, Denials Management, and Client-Facing teams.
- Build scalable workflows and operational frameworks that support long-term business growth.
- Lead and develop a growing team while fostering accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner in shaping the future state of billing operations across multiple clients and markets.
- Balance hands-on analytical work with strategic leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Progressive leadership experience within healthcare revenue cycle operations.
- Strong expertise in identifying root causes and developing actionable solutions to complex operational challenges.
- Experience across multiple functional areas of the revenue cycle.
- Demonstrated success driving process improvement and operational optimization initiatives.
- Advanced critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-client environment.
- Adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge traditional approaches to achieve better outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, or other major healthcare information systems.
- Knowledge of clearinghouse operations and claim management processes.
- Experience working for a payer, health system, consulting organization, or healthcare technology company.
- Exposure to automation technologies, AI-enabled tools, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, bots, or workflow automation platforms.
- Experience leading enterprise transformation or operational excellence initiatives.

Pay
This position pays between $88,200-$132,300.
