Director, Benefits and Payroll

About the role

Our client, a rapidly growing wealth management firm, is seeking a Director, Benefits and Payroll to join its team. This leadership role will drive the strategy, design, and administration of the organization's benefits programs, including oversight of a self-funded health plan, while partnering with senior leadership on long-term program development and growth. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in self-funded benefits programs and experience leading benefits strategy within a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Drive the strategy, design, and administration of the organization's benefits programs.
• Oversee a self-funded health plan, including funding, renewals, and broker partnerships.
• Partner with senior leadership on long-term program development and growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8+ years of experience leading employee benefits programs.
• Direct experience managing self-funded health plans, including funding, renewals, and broker partnerships.
• Experience administering health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, leave programs, and open enrollment.
• Prior experience managing teams.

Skills

• Experience overseeing payroll operations and multi-state payroll compliance (preferred).
• Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms (preferred).

Pay

The salary for this role is $165K‑$180K.
