Director, AI & Process Solutions

About the role

This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a manufacturing environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy for AI and process systems within the Materials Division R&D
• Build and maintain a roadmap for AI-enabled scientific and engineering solutions across all business units
• Lead the deployment of intelligent assistants and autonomous workflows for enhanced knowledge discovery
• Advance capabilities in digital twins and scientific workflow digitization to accelerate development
• Identify and scale high-value opportunities for AI across various scientific disciplines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create reusable knowledge assets and AI decision frameworks
• Support the transition of AI models and workflows from research to manufacturing environments
• Drive AI adoption through stakeholder engagement and training initiatives

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, analytics, computational science, process modeling, or digital innovation in R&D or manufacturing
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams delivering scalable AI and digital process solutions
• Strong understanding of machine learning architectures and scientific language models
• Familiarity with process modeling, simulation, digital twins, and scientific workflows
• Ability to turn business and scientific challenges into practical data-driven solutions with measurable outcomes
• Solid knowledge of AI governance, risk management, and cybersecurity best practices

Pay

$184,000 – $245,500 annually
