Director, AI Delivery
About the role
Owns end-to-end execution of VNS Health's enterprise AI portfolio, currently 22 active use cases on a path to $20M in validated FY2027 value. This is a hands-on, builder role for a leader who runs the AI Ways of Working end to end: discovery, experiment, pilot, scale, including building the cross-functional team internally to execute this work. The ideal candidate has led AI or technology delivery before, is comfortable building a function from zero, and measures success by the business impact delivered, not activity.
VNS Health has been committed to meeting the needs of New Yorkers for over 130 years. We’re one of the largest nonprofit home- and community-based health care organizations in the country, and today, more than 11,500 team members work together to make a difference in the lives of more than 99,000 patients and members on any given day.
Responsibilities
- Own delivery of the active AI project portfolio, driving each project through the Discovery, Experiment, Pilot, and Scale stage gates on a predictable clock
- Lead the AI Squad Leads and build a delivery team, standing up cross-functional squads that pull the right stakeholders from across the organization into each project
- Enforce the AI Ways of Working on every project: AI Brief intake, review, ELT prioritization, four-week sprint cadence, and KPI baselining before kickoff
- Partner directly with leaders and senior leaders across VNS Health to scope problems, align stakeholders, and clear delivery blockers
- Direct the AI Engineering squad, matrixed with SciTech, on forward-looking work exploring how AI can transform core operations beyond the current project backlog
- Own measurement and reporting of the value and impact delivered by every project, feeding the enterprise ROI tracking process
- Bring an iterative, test-and-learn approach to delivery, adjusting scope based on pilot results rather than committing to a fixed plan upfront
- Build the muscle for taking projects from pilot to enterprise scale, including change management and adoption planning
- Represent AI Delivery in cross-functional
