Director, Actuarial FP&A
Responsibilities
- Interpret, prepare, and present key actuarial and financial information to support informed leadership decision making.
- Provide guidance and advice regarding technical actuarial issues such as pricing rates, modeling methodology, reserving principles and related matters.
- Focus on forward-looking financial outcomes.
- Assess complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance arrangements, and other strategic initiatives, offering guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with leaders from business units and other departments to provide meaningful management reports, support capital planning, and perform performance analysis.
- Drive key projects to completion by providing leadership and direction to individuals both inside and outside the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field, and 10 years of related actuarial experience, or Master’s degree in a listed discipline and 8 years of experience.
- FSA and American Academy of Actuaries membership.
- Demonstrate high quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills.
- Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences.
- Solid understanding of risk/return profiles of various assets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience in the insurance industry, knowledge of regulatory frameworks and thorough understanding of financial markets.
- Proven experience in setting up financial models that are used in decision making processes.
- Experience in assessing and analyzing business performance, challenging business strategies, ability to present and interpret the results of the assessment, ability to conduct complex financial research autonomously.
Pay
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $195,000 - $250,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Benefits
This position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

Job Location
This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Denver, Cedar Rapids, Philadelphia).
