Responsibilities
- Procure and organize data and perform advanced actuarial analysis to support pricing, reserving, and forecasting processes.
- Take the lead role in the loss ratio forecasting process, using research, analysis, collaboration, and judgment.
- Provide support for Rate Reviews, Ratemaking, and Actuarial Indications by collecting, compiling and analyzing data on price, exposure, losses, policy, and claim counts pertaining to same.
- Provide regular estimates of adequate loss and expense reserves.
- Support the company’s planning processes.
- Aid Underwriting in identifying segments with profitable growth potential and underperforming segments, proposing corrective actions to improve profitability.
- Support advanced analytics and modeling techniques.
- Assist in enterprise risk management, including support for catastrophe management, economic capital modeling, internal rate of return studies.
- Develop rating methodologies concerning both existing and new company products.
- Provide tools and analysis in support of Underwriting’s pricing decisions with respect to large accounts.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of Property/Casualty actuarial work.
- Successful completion of at least four actuarial exams.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software.
- Experience with SQL and Power BI is a plus.
- Advanced actuarial analysis.
- Data collection, compilation, and interpretation.
- Forecasting and modeling.
- Collaboration and judgment in decision-making.
- Pricing and reserving methodologies.
- Risk management and financial analysis.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software and databases.
