Responsibilities

  • Procure and organize data and perform advanced actuarial analysis to support pricing, reserving, and forecasting processes.
  • Take the lead role in the loss ratio forecasting process, using research, analysis, collaboration, and judgment.
  • Provide support for Rate Reviews, Ratemaking, and Actuarial Indications by collecting, compiling and analyzing data on price, exposure, losses, policy, and claim counts pertaining to same.
  • Provide regular estimates of adequate loss and expense reserves.
  • Support the company’s planning processes.
  • Aid Underwriting in identifying segments with profitable growth potential and underperforming segments, proposing corrective actions to improve profitability.
  • Support advanced analytics and modeling techniques.
  • Assist in enterprise risk management, including support for catastrophe management, economic capital modeling, internal rate of return studies.
  • Develop rating methodologies concerning both existing and new company products.
  • Provide tools and analysis in support of Underwriting’s pricing decisions with respect to large accounts.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of Property/Casualty actuarial work.
  • Successful completion of at least four actuarial exams.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI is a plus.
  • Advanced actuarial analysis.
  • Data collection, compilation, and interpretation.
  • Forecasting and modeling.
  • Collaboration and judgment in decision-making.
  • Pricing and reserving methodologies.
  • Risk management and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software and databases.
