About This Position

This position plays a pivotal leadership role within Carrier’s accounting organization, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial operations across a dynamic business unit. The role is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of accounting activities in alignment with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and established internal control frameworks. As a trusted partner to cross-functional teams, this position provides timely, reliable financial insights that support strategic decision-making at the leadership level. The successful candidate will guide and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering operational excellence while driving continuous improvement across processes, reporting, and controls.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leads multiple teams, and manages activities, processes, and large-scale projects for a large organization.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of general ledger preparation, project and/or government accounting activities to maintain proper functioning of the unit.
  • Ensures accurate and timely consolidations, closing of financial statements and compliance activities are performed.
  • Determines policies, procedures, and controls are in place to protect company assets.
  • Directs and reviews the preparation and presentation of management reports and/or corporate reporting requirements, to ensure integrity of information and keep management updated on key information.
  • Guides the team on a wide variety of complex accounting and business issues to help resolve the issues.
  • Develops standards and makes strategic decisions based on the knowledge of accounting concepts, wide-ranging experience, superior analytical skills, and knowledge of industry.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance / business administration / economics / commerce.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • 8+ years applying U.S. GAAP in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • 5+ years’ experience designing, executing, and testing SOX controls and internal control frameworks.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading teams and/or managing cross-functional projects.
  • 8+ years’ experience using Excel at an advanced level (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in accounting / Finance.
  • Certified CPA or CMA is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with SAP.
  • Demonstrated success communicating with senior leaders, collaborating across functions, and presenting financial information clearly.

Additional Information

Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available.

The annual salary for this position is between $174,500.00 - $348,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation:

  • This position is entitled to both short and long-term incentives, subject to plan requirements.
