About the role

This position plays a pivotal leadership role within Carrier’s accounting organization, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial operations across a dynamic business unit. The role oversees the daily execution of accounting activities in alignment with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and established internal control frameworks. As a trusted partner to cross-functional teams, this position provides timely, reliable financial insights that support strategic decision-making at the leadership level. The successful candidate will guide and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering operational excellence while driving continuous improvement across processes, reporting, and controls.

This is an onsite position with potential work locations in Palm Beach Gardens (FL), Charlotte (NC), Syracuse (NY), or Indianapolis (IN).

Responsibilities

• Leads multiple teams and manages activities, processes, and large-scale projects for a large organization.
• Ensures timely and accurate completion of general ledger preparation, project, and/or government accounting activities.
• Ensures accurate and timely consolidations, closing of financial statements, and compliance activities.
• Determines policies, procedures, and controls are in place to protect company assets.
• Directs and reviews the preparation and presentation of management reports and/or corporate reporting requirements.
• Guides the team on a wide variety of complex accounting and business issues to help resolve them.
• Develops standards and makes strategic decisions based on accounting concepts, experience, analytical skills, and industry knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or commerce.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• 8+ years applying U.S. GAAP in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• 5+ years’ experience designing, executing, and testing SOX controls and internal control frameworks.
• 5+ years’ experience leading teams and/or managing cross-functional projects.
• 8+ years’ experience using Excel at an advanced level (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros).

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in accounting or Finance (preferred).
• Certified CPA or CMA (strongly preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience with SAP.
• Demonstrated success communicating with senior leaders, collaborating across functions, and presenting financial information clearly.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $174,500.00 and $348,500.00. Factors affecting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also entitled to both short- and long-term incentives, subject to plan requirements.
