Direct Support Staff - Residential Facility / HAB Program

About the role

The role involves providing direct support services in a residential facility or Home Away from Home (HAB) program. Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment for residents.
• Support residents in developing life skills and social interactions.
• Monitor residents' health and report any concerns to supervisors.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Pass a background check and criminal history review.

Skills

• Basic computer literacy.
• Knowledge of disability-specific terminology and resources.
