Direct Support Specialist IDD

About the role

The role involves providing direct support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals with IDD in their homes or community settings.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Help with medication management and health monitoring.
• Facilitate social interactions and participation in community activities.
• Maintain accurate records and report progress to supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience working with individuals with IDD is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Passing a background check and criminal history review.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of community resources and services relevant to IDD.

Pay
