Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to children, teens, and young adults (ages 12–21) with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.
  • Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
  • Prepare meals and snacks.
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma, transcript, or GED.
  • 6 months of professional work experience supporting vulnerable populations required (e.g., caregiver, nanny, paraeducator, direct support professional, etc.).
  • Good communication skills; ability to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
  • Valid driver’s license (required for transporting persons served).
  • Must be able to attend three weeks of paid training Monday–Friday 9 am–5 pm.

Pay

$18.00 per hour.

Schedule

  • Saturday/Sunday 8 am–2 pm (12 hours/week).
  • Friday/Saturday 2 pm–10 pm (16 hours/week).
