Direct Support Professional (Stockton Area) Full Time

Overview

A Direct Support Professional works as scheduled by the Regional Manager and/or his/her designee. Overtime may be required as dictated by operational needs, however, no holiday or overtime may be worked without the prior approval of the Direct Support Professional's supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Community Facilitate the client’s inclusion in positive community experiences.
• Transport clients to appointments, community activities, or other locations as needed, ensuring safety and timeliness during travel.
• Maintenance Maintain current knowledge of client’s needs.
• Teamwork Participate in the evaluation of the client through completion of task analysis and other requested assessment devices.
• Implementation Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person.
• Document Document required activity records, reports, incidents, and client evaluations in a timely, complete, and accurate manner as required.
• Human Resources Assist Promote independence in daily activities yet be mindful of client’s intellectual and physical disabilities and assist with meals, cooking, household maintenance, grooming and dressing, as assigned.
• Training Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully, using methods outlined in plans and training.
• Management Oversees client activities and environment throughout shift to ensure the fulfillment of health and safety needs Provides direct service as needed and required.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee.
• Certification in an approved First-Aid and CPR class; or successful completion within 45 days of the date of hire.
• His/her schedule may be either part or full time, depending on the needs of the clients and Adjoin.
