Direct Support Professional (Full- Time)

About the role

Community Options, Inc. is hiring Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff, and Home Health Aides in the Knoxville / Maryville, TN areas to provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Auxiliary tasks include assisting with daily routines such as cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene
• Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and report any concerns immediately
• Aid in the learning and development of independent and community-based skills for individuals
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of program documentation and billable records
• Build a support network for individuals by developing relationships with community members, businesses, and families

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
• Exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations

Qualifications

No prior experience is required. Paid training will be provided.
