A Day in the Life of a Residential Direct Support Professional - DSP
As a Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will support individuals with developmental disabilities in living independently and fully. Your role includes assistance with daily living tasks such as:
- Medication assistance
- Hygiene and grooming
- Shopping and meal preparation
- Transportation and housekeeping
- Life skills training (financial management, behavior management)
- Community access and participation (employment, relationships, recreational activities)
You will model appropriate social skills and behaviors while helping individuals lead self-fulfilling lives.
Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle preferred
- Ability to drive large vehicles
- Punctual, reliable, and self-disciplined
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Discretion with confidential information
- Compassion with professional boundaries
- Calm, flexible, and patient demeanor
- Ability to work well as part of a team
Pay
$16.50/hour

Schedule
Part-time:
- Saturday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Sunday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
Full-time (32 hours per week):
- Friday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
- Saturday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
- Sunday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
- Monday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Swing and morning shifts can be mixed and matched (morning shifts are 6 hours; swing shifts are 8 hours).
