Direct Support Professional - Residential

About the role

Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is actively seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support people with disabilities in achieving their personal goals and living fulfilling lives. As a caregiver, you’ll play a vital role in fostering positive self-esteem and independence—both at home and in the community—through compassionate support, encouragement, and respectful, person-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal care, and household tasks
• Follow care plans, medication routines, and safety guidelines with compassion and attention to detail
• Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and events
• Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and service coordinators to ensure quality, person-centered support
• Offer encouragement, emotional support, and advocacy to help people build confidence and make choices

Requirements

• Experience with developmental disabilities is valued
• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Experience as a CNA, Health Aide, Caregiver, or DSP is a plus

No prior experience required; comprehensive training is provided.

Schedule

• Evening Shift: 3 PM to 11 PM (times may fluctuate); must have a valid NYS driver’s license
• Overnight Shift: 11 PM to 7 AM (times may fluctuate)

Full-time and relief positions available.

Pay

$18.19 – $18.96 per hour, based on experience and shift differentials.
