Direct Support Professional - PRN

About the role

Position: PRN Direct Support Professional in Butler, PA. Merakey is a leading non‑profit provider of developmental and behavioral health services, seeking mission‑driven, compassionate, and reliable individuals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No prior experience is required – paid training is provided. As a DSP you will help build independence, develop social and communication skills, and support daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
• Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills
• Provide community support and transportation
• Promote health, safety, and well‑being, including medication support (as trained)
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• No experience required – paid training provided
• Mission‑driven, compassionate, and reliable
• Experience as a caregiver, direct care worker, or home health aide is a plus but not required

Pay

Pay Rate: Earn up to $18.25/hour.
