About the role
The Level 2 Direct Support Professional is an entry level position for which all training is provided. This position provides direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities so they can maintain employment.
Principal Responsibilities
- Provide direct support for assigned individuals so they can maintain employment.
- Identify individuals’ strengths, abilities, and interests, and develop a strategic plan to match career opportunities for individuals with local employers as required.
- Complete required documentation (i.e. daily data, service logs, timesheets, mileage sheet…etc.) in a timely manner.
- Implement appropriate support strategies as outlined in the ISA and Career Support Plan.
- Aid individuals in finding and retaining employment as necessary.
- Aid Service Coordinator in the development of employment goals as necessary.
- Provide career training to individuals within their employment site.
- Provide general education around supported employment to employers as needed.
- Provides transportation to individuals as necessary.
- Participate in regular supervision.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience in developmental services is preferred.
- A commitment to community inclusion and individual choice is essential.
- Proficiency with computers and experience entering data into electronic medical records (EMR) program is required.
- A flexible, dependable, and independent work style is necessary.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont is required.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire is required.
Pay
Competitive Pay Range - $20.25-$20.75/hour (compensation is typically dependent upon experience)
