Direct Support Professional - Independent Contractor (NB)

About the role

InReach provides a wide variety of services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We hire Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) willing to make a difference in someone's life by providing companionship, care, and support. This position is for a DSP (Independent Contractor) serving a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area, 28227, providing Community Networking Services for 14 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
• Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
• Facilitate community integration.
• Help individual develop healthy social habits.
• Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
• Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Successful drug screen and background check.

This is an Independent Contractor position; contractors receive a 1099 tax form, use a third‑party Contract Management vendor for direct deposits, and are responsible for state‑required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and vendor administrative fees.

Qualifications

One to two years of experience with the I/DD population preferred.
