Direct Support Professional II - Behavior Specialist Assistant (3014)
Pay: $24.00/hour with a $500 sign-on bonus (50% paid at 6 months and 50% paid at 12 months).
Schedule: Monday 4pm - 11pm, Tuesday 3pm - 11pm, Wednesday 4pm - 9pm, Thursday 7am - 4pm, Friday 3pm - 9pm.
About the role
Behavior Specialist Assistants provide direct support to individuals with unique behavioral and/or mental health challenges. In this role, you will ensure residents are living a safe, healthy, and fulfilled life while supporting the continued development of their skills and abilities. The position respects and celebrates individuals’ culture, talents, and contributions, following the Individual and Behavior Support Plan. The goal is to provide each individual with a comfortable, safe home and keep them closely connected to family, friends, and their community.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the overall physical, psychological, and emotional health and safety of participants in residential homes.
- Provide supports as outlined in the individual’s support plan, including personal care, physical lifting, and therapeutic holds.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking, and budgeting.
- Support the Behavior Specialist and Clinical Director in developing teaching procedures for goals and objectives in the Individual Support Plan.
- Assist in analyzing data and developing graphic presentations to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Facilitate and monitor crisis intervention and prevention responses.
- Encourage community and home life engagement to foster new relationships.
- Follow clinical orders and ensure proper administration of medications and treatments.
- Monitor and collect data as required.
Training
- Paid New Employee Orientation.
- Training on CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED/HiSet.
- Standard driver’s license – class C or class D.
- 1 – 3 years of related experience.
