Direct Support Professional II - Awake Overnight

This role provides direct support or services with a higher level of skill or experience, contributing to our service recipients' care and support while maintaining quality, service excellence, and ethical standards. This role may train or supervise direct support employees and works closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans that align with each person's goals and needs.

Pay

Starting pay is $20.50/hour, with additional differentials based on location and qualifications:

• Cape-based programs: $1/hour differential
• Martha’s Vineyard programs: $4/hour differential (except Franklin Street program, which offers $3/hour)
• Additional $1/hour differential for employees with active MAP certification (except at non–Franklin Street programs on Martha’s Vineyard)
• All asleep hours are paid at a flat rate of $17.50/hour

Part-time Employees

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day services to program participants, assisting and/or teaching individuals varying levels of personal care (e.g., bathing, toileting, teeth brushing)
• Assist and/or teach individuals household maintenance, meal prep, and/or shopping, fostering increasing control and responsibility over their daily lives
• Accompany individuals on appointments as needed
• Administer medications or support individuals to self-medicate in accordance with residential guidelines
• Follow routines of individuals, including Behavior Support Plans, personal care, and Physical Therapy

Support Advocates receive a paid 5-day New Employee Orientation and training on CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP). Program-specific training is also provided at the work site.

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required
• 1-3 years of related experience preferred
• Valid Driver’s License & Good Driving Record
• CPR/First Aid and MAP certification required (paid training provided if needed)
