Direct Support Professional - IDD

About the role

Join a team of passionate and caring people who make a difference in people's lives. We are now hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This will be performed in a home-like setting.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation
• Medical monitoring and health care related tasks
• Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support
• Encouraging self-help activities
• Implements Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plans
• Manage individual's behaviors by prevention or de-escalation of aggression
• Keeps accurate daily documentation of activities, fire/disaster drills, Behavior Support Plans, medications, goal and data tracking, as well as other documentation
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments
• Transporting clients or running errands for clients
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older
• Pass background check
• Driver's license with valid auto insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification; or copy of high school diploma/transcript or GED diploma; and at least six months of experience providing behavioral health related services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), or documented experience providing specific supports to individuals with disabilities

Pay

Salary range: USD $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
