Direct Support Professional / Group Home
About the role
Join Easterseals PORT Health as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and play a vital role in empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential homes.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
- Aid with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
- Support personal care activities like bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
- Plan and organize their schedule.
- Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
Requirements
- Stay on site for the duration of your shift and clock out to sleep each night for 8 hours.
- Compensation: $15.00/hour.
Qualifications
- A High school diploma or GED is required.
- Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols knowledge.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
- Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
