About the role
Easterseals PORT Health, a non-profit service provider in North Carolina & Virginia, is seeking compassionate, caring, and dedicated individuals to become full or part-time Caregivers (internally called DSPs) to support clients living with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with daily living activities, including employment support.
- Keep clients socially engaged in activities to make their days enjoyable and meaningful.
- Document and report daily activities.
- Provide care in a residential group home setting and transport residents as needed.
- Aid individuals in learning and maintaining skills for greater independence.
- Support families by providing much-needed breaks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and current auto insurance.
- Background check required.
Qualifications
- CPR / First Aid.
- Crisis Intervention Techniques.
- Medication Administration.
- OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP).
- Seizure Management.
- Other relevant training courses for career growth.
Skills

Pay
$15 per hour.
Schedule
Shifts available: PRN and full time. Locations: West Jefferson. Available shifts: Monday from 8am to Wednesday at 4pm, Wednesday from 4pm till Saturday at 8am & weekends from Saturday at 8am till Monday at 8am (PRN shift). Total hours: 40.
