Direct Support Professional FT & PT

About the role

EnCircle is hiring Full-time and Part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Strasburg, Virginia and surrounding areas. This is an entry-level hourly role with benefits available for those working over 30 hours per week. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. DSPs work with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, assisting with everyday activities, supporting health, safety, and wellbeing, and helping people become integrated and engaged in the community. The role requires driving, so a clean driving record is critical. You can count on a helpful, supportive team and the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives every day.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities with everyday activities.
• Support improvements in health, safety, and wellbeing.
• Help individuals become integrated and engaged in their community.
• Provide transportation as required; maintain a clean driving record.
• Complete paid training in CPR, First Aid, and DSP orientation within 30 days of hire.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Responsible work ethic and good communication skills.
• Compassionate and caring attitude.
• Clean driving record – no violations as specified:
• Within the last 5 years: no reckless driving (including speeding 20+ mph over limit), DUI/refusal, manslaughter/negligent homicide, driving after being declared a habitual offender, driving on a suspended/revoked license, operating a commercial motor vehicle while disqualified/under influence/BAC ≥ .04/refusal/out‑of‑service order violation, injuring a person while racing (felony), failure to stop at scene of crash with injury/death/$1000+ property damage, emergency vehicle violation resulting in death, vehicular assault or willful stopping/impeding/damaging a vehicle, blocking access to service facility, attempting to elude police, operating an unsafe vehicle, vulnerable road user death.
• Within the last 3 years: no passing a stopped school bus, no careless driving, no three or more minor moving violations.
