About the Role
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities by providing compassionate and personalized care. Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- The ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required.
- A basic knowledge of health and safety standards related to client care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility support.
- Implement individualized care plans and document progress accurately to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote client independence and social engagement.
- Monitor client health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals promptly.
- Facilitate community involvement and recreational activities to enhance social skills and overall quality of life.
