About the role

Bancroft is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Lakeside Day Program in Mullica Hill, NJ. This position offers the chance to build a career as a caregiver and make a difference in the lives of individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data
• Provide assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping
• Offer personal care and supervision, fostering the growth of each individual
• Teach daily living and functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive residential settings
• Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings, providing safe transportation
• Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention while adhering to Bancroft's quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques
• Complete paperwork and provide regular documentation as required
• Maintain effective communication with residents and their families

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License in the candidate’s legal name and current address
• One year minimum driving experience
• Minimum of six months related work experience or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field

• Strong desire to work with autistic, intellectually, and developmentally challenged individuals
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills

• Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual, or developmental disabilities preferred

Pay

$19.61-$20.00 per hour, plus additional incentives

Schedule

1st shift (Monday-Friday 8a-4p = 40 hours full time)
