Direct Support Professional (1st Shift Full Time)

About the role

Bancroft is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join the Gloucester Day Program in Swedesboro, NJ. This role focuses on empowering individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, supporting them in reaching their highest potential within a stable, structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data
• Provide assistance with daily living activities including personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping
• Provide personal care and supervision while actively participating in the life growth of each individual
• Teach daily living and functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive residential settings
• Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings, providing safe transportation
• Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention while adhering to Bancroft's quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques
• Complete paperwork and provide regular documentation as required
• Maintain effective communication with residents and their parents, guardians, and other family members

Minimum Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License in the candidate's legal name and current address
• One year minimum driving experience
• License must be in good standing and free of restrictions
• Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field

• Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually, and developmentally challenged individuals
• Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual, or developmental disabilities preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Pay & Benefits

• Hiring range: $19.61–$20.00 per hour, plus additional incentives

Schedule

1st shift, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours per week, full time). Onsite at the Gloucester Day Program in Swedesboro, NJ.
