Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while ensuring health and safety needs are met.
- Supervise, teach and assist individuals in all aspects of their life.
- Complete various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Provide personal care assistance.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A personal, reliable vehicle with valid OH driver’s license and car insurance.
- The ability to push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs, and climb, balance, kneel and crouch.
- Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest’s Authorized Driver Criteria.
Qualifications
- Paid training including CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration courses and certifications.
