Direct Support Professional (DSP)

About the role

Community Access Services (CAS) is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live full, independent, and meaningful lives. As a DSP in our Day Support Activities (DSA) Program, you'll support individuals with a focus on community engagement, personal development, and life-enriching activities. Whether you're an experienced caregiver or brand new to this field, CAS provides paid training, hands-on support, and real opportunities for growth.

What You'll Do

• Build supportive, person-centered relationships that promote independence, dignity, and personal growth
• Lead and participate in daily activities such as art, cooking, music, physical exercise and skill-building sessions
• Support individuals during community outings, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and more
• Encourage social connection, communication, and confidence-building through meaningful engagement
• Follow individualized service plans and behavior/support strategies (training provided)
• Assist with personal care routines as needed
• Administer medications and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Help create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants

Qualifications

• Experience as a DSP, caregiver, or human services professional is great, but not required—we provide all training
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and ability to become an approved company driver
• Ability to pass a national background check
• Compassionate communicator with patience and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility needs

Pay & Benefits

• Competitive Pay: $21.50–$22.50/hour (based on experience)
