Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Ameriwell Care is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities across New Jersey. As a DDD-focused agency aligned with the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, we offer consistent hours, local cases, and a supportive environment where DSPs are valued and set up for success. Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized support services in both home and community settings, tailored to each individual’s needs
• Assist individuals in building and maintaining everyday life skills such as cooking, personal care, organization, and structured routines
• Facilitate participation in community activities, including social outings, errands, and scheduled appointments
• Promote personal growth by encouraging independence, confidence, and meaningful social interaction
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment by providing appropriate supervision at all times
• Complete accurate and timely service documentation using electronic systems (HHA Exchange) in compliance with New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities requirements
• Collaborate and communicate consistently with families, supervisors, and the care team to ensure high-quality support

Requirements

• Meet the minimum age requirement of 18
• Ability to meet all hiring compliance standards, including required screenings and clearances
• Open to completing CPR and First Aid training if not already certified
• Dependable transportation to travel to assigned cases when needed
• Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and compassion when working with individuals

Experience in supporting others is welcomed but not required—training is provided for the right candidate.
