About the role
Ameriwell Care New Jersey is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an older adult male in a structured, respectful, and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily routines and evening schedule
- Providing companionship and positive engagement
- Socializing and supporting community activities and outings (as applicable)
- Meal prep assistance and light household support
- Promoting independence, safety, and personal goals
- Absentee reminders and personal care (as needed)
- Documenting daily notes and reporting changes to the supervisor
- Fulfilling individualized support plans and maintaining professionalism
Requirements
- Must be 18+
- Valid driver's license (preferred)
- Ability to pass background checks
- DSP experience is a plus (but not required—we can train the right person)
- Ability to work the full scheduled shift consistently
