TURN Community Services in Midvale, UT is looking to hire full and part-time Day Program Direct Support Professionals - Caregivers to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

TURN Community Services was founded in 1973 by a group of parents who wanted better services for their adult children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities. With locations from Brigham City to St. George, we offer a full range of services including day programs, residential living, art center programs, summer camp, and supported employment opportunities. A Day in the Life of a Day Program Direct Support Professional - Caregiver

As a Day Program Direct Support Professional - Caregiver, you support people with developmental disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible. Your support is needed in many areas of daily living including:

  • Self-care and hygiene
  • Motor skills
  • Arts and crafts
  • Vocational skills and work habits
  • Community inclusion
  • Behavior management
  • Recreational activities

Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you provide support for our clients with their day-to-day schedules. You model appropriate social skills and behaviors, keep accurate and up-to-date documentation, and promptly report any concerns about health or safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living activities
  • Support behavior management and recreational activities
  • Teach and mentor clients using effective techniques
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report health or safety concerns
  • Drive large vehicles to transport individuals for community engagement and to/from home

Qualifications

  • 18+ years of age
  • Licensed driver with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive large vehicles to transport individuals
  • A heart for serving people with developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Discretion with confidential information
  • Compassion while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Calm, flexible, and patient demeanor
  • Ability to work well as part of a team

Must be able to pass a background check upon hire.

Schedule

Schedules are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Pay

Competitive hourly compensation of $16.50.
