Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm (40 hours per week). Family‑friendly daytime hours.

Pay

Starting pay $15.00 per hour, with experience up to $16.00 per hour.

About the Role

AHRC Nassau provides OPWDD‑approved Day Habilitation Services in over 30 locations across Nassau County. The program offers no‑cost door‑to‑door transportation, medical oversight by registered nurses, and an engaged staff who deliver meaningful, person‑centered experiences each day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills required
• Valid NYS driver’s license; must be and remain a qualified driver
• AMAP/First Aid/CPR/SCIP‑R training preferred
• Minimum of one year experience supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities preferred

Physical Aspects

• May include, but are not limited to, lifting and transferring an adult volunteer
• Transportation/driving as needed, including wheelchair‑accessible vehicle and lock‑downs

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport volunteers to and from the program site, residential locations, community‑based volunteer job sites, and additional hub locations
• Assist volunteers in achieving success and satisfaction in personal growth and community‑based endeavors
• Ensure the safety of program volunteers while at the program site, agency locations, community volunteer jobs, and all other hub sites
• Act as liaison between volunteer job‑site staff and program volunteers
