Direct Support Professional - Community Participation Supports
About The Role
We’re hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one care and guidance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. As a DSP, you’ll help individuals achieve greater independence, participate in daily activities, and live meaningful lives—all while working with a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in home and community settings per their Individual Support Plans
- Encourage participation in social, recreational, and leisure activities
- Promote independence in daily routines like cooking, cleaning, and hygiene
- Assist with transportation to appointments and community events
- Document daily progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with other care professionals and families
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and good driving record
- Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to meet clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a home or community-based setting
- Background in caregiving, human services, or special education
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time Employees: Paid vacation days that increase with tenure, separate sick leave that rolls over annually, up to 10 paid holidays (based on location)
